Unique Team of Experts Tackles Solar to Benefit New Hampshire Business Owners
New Hampshire CFO Joins with Former Nuclear Engineer to Unlock Grants & Rebates; State’s Largest Solar Install Underway
Manchester, NH – Two New England innovators today publicly unveiled a partnership aimed at helping New Hampshire businesses reap the benefits of solar energy. New Hampshire-based J. Edgar Group has teamed up with solar energy company Picktricity, Inc. to help business owners leverage the state’s alternative energy incentives.
New Hampshire businesses installing solar panels are eligible for a federal solar technology tax credit and solar-specific accelerated depreciation; a state tax rebate; and New Hampshire’s Renewal Energy Certificate (REC) program, which requires the state’s utilities to buy back carbon-free energy. The J. Edgar Group, which offers CFO-for-hire services throughout New England, handles the finance side, while Picktricity manages approvals and installation.
J. Edgar Group’s founder, CPA Joanne L. Edgar, has deep roots in New Hampshire. For 3 generations, her family operated summer camps for boys and girls in the Ragged Mountain region, sharing the rich bounty of New Hampshire’s natural resources with their young charges. “Helping clients tap into the state’s solar power opportunities is the 21st century version of the family business,” Edgar comments. “The Edgars have always been about sunshine and clean air in New Hampshire.”
Led by Kevin Maloney, a former nuclear engineer and energy broker with experience in construction, Picktricity has installed roof-top panels for businesses in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, including customized construction for historic buildings.
